Ojo de Agua (Eye of Water)

For a more relaxing afternoon, take a tour to the Ojo de Agua. The “Ojo de Agua” or “The Eye of Water,” is a local swimming hole located in a natural forest setting. The pool is filled by the cool waters of a natural, freshwater spring before flowing into a river that eventually makes its way to lake Nicaragua. The crystalline mineral waters of this volcanic spring have been a favourite swimming hole amongst locals for many years, as it provides the perfect way to refresh oneself on a hot sunny day. Keep an eye out: you may see iguanas or parrots in the surrounding forest. This tour requires taking a bus or private transportation. LA OMAJA can arrange for a vehicle to take you to the Ojo de Agua (about 20 minutes). The driver will then pick you up at a prearranged time and return you to the hotel. Food and drinks are available at the Ojo de Agua. This tour can also be done in conjunction with other island tours that require private transportation.
