Petroglyphs / Coffee Farm at Finca Magdalena

LA OMAJA can also arrange trips to the petroglyphs and coffee farm at Finca Magdalena. This tour also requires private transportation and can be done in conjunction with the tour to Ojo de Agua or Santo Domingo. Finca Magdalena is a coffee farm run by a local co-operative. They grow and sell their organic ccoffee01offees, provide basic level hostels for backpackers, and are home to a large collection of petroglyphs. At Finca Magdalena you will learn some of the ins and outs of growing quality organic coffee. While you’re there take a leisurely stroll through the wooded property and you’ll stumble across an impressive collection of petroglyphs, which are ancient rock carvings made by some of the island´s first settlers approximately seventeen hundred years ago. A private vehicle from the hotel will take you on the 20 minute drive to Finca Magdalena where a local employee will take you on the hour long tour of the farm and petroglyphs. Some walking is required. The vehicle will then return you to the hotel.
